Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress, dancer and singer. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway performances, she starred in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. For her role as Essie In You Can't Take It With You she was awarded the Tony Award. Annaleigh Ashford, Tony Award winner actor has worked with a variety of well-known directors and actors in stage films and television. The award-winning actress continues her career by working on new projects. Ashford is set to next appear alongside Kumail in Robert Siegel's Hulu-exclusive show Welcome to Chippendales which premieres on November 22nd. Ashford has been working on Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust which stars Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. The film is an Hulu Original and will be streamed via Disney DTC. Ashford will be returning in 2023. He will be starring opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton is the director of the show. Ashford was Paula Jones, the main character in Ryan Murphy's new FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the scandal that brought Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp and other principal characters into the first ever impeachment proceedings in America for more than a century. She starred in two seasons of cult CBS comedy B Positive. The show was created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the show also starred famous actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No no stranger to Broadway Ashford won the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her performance as Essie as Essie in You Can't Take It with You. Other Broadway performances include Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the originating role of Lauren In Kinky Boots a performance for which she also received a Tony Award nomination. Born and raised in Denver Ashford is now dividing her days between Los Angeles and New York.
