In 2007, she earned a bachelor's in art history at Columbia University. In 2017, she joined The View, a daily talk-show The View where she co-hosted until 2021. She was awarded 4 Daytime Emmy award nominations for her efforts. McCain's other endeavors include being an Daily Mail columnist after her period of three years on The View. McCain also wrote four books, among them The Story of My Dad John McCain (2008) Dirty Sexy Politics (2010) America You Sexy Bitch : A love letter to freedom and Michael Ian Black (2012) and Bad Republican (2022).
